It is once again the time of year for submitting nominations for Atmore’s annual Citizen of the Year award.

Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sheryl Vickery said anyone in the community is eligible to be nominated, although people are asked to use certain parameters when submitted a name for consideration.

“The award is designed to recognize outstanding achievements and/or contributions to the community,” Vickery said.

The award for Citizen of the Year will be announced Thursday, Feb. 21 at the 2013 Chamber Banquet, to be held at The Club on Alabama Highway 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Vickery is asking that all nominations be submitted before 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13. Nominations may be submitted at the chamber office, located inside the Atmore YMCA building on Pensacola Avenue, or via email at atmoreal@frontiernet.net
