EA girls win rematch against Monroe

The Escambia Academy Lady Cougars moved to 14-4 on the season after a 59-29 win over Monroe Academy.
The win avenges a Lady Cougar loss from the first game of in January in which Monroe won 64-57.
“We had to have that game,” said EA coach David Walker.
The win set up a rematch Friday with Fort Dale Academy, an EA win would give them second place in the area. Results from Friday’s game weren’t available as of press time.
Grayson Emmons led the team with 15 points on six-of-12 shooting. She went two-for-two from the foul line. The team’s leading scorer also added five steals, three assists and three rebounds.
Peyton Snider led the team in rebounds with 12. She added seven points on three-of-eight shooting and went one-for-three from the charity stripe. She added two assists and three steals.
Allison Woods scored 11 points on five-of-12 shooting and went one-for-two from the foul line. She added five rebounds, five steals and one assist.
Sydney McGhee scored eight points on four-of-seven shooting and grabbed four rebounds. Lacie Flowers added seven points on three-of-seven shooting and had seven steals in the win.
The Lady Cougars will take on Jackson Academy Monday with games beginning at 4 p.m.
