An Atmore man is behind bars after being arrested and charged with several drug-related crimes Tuesday night at his home on 3rd Avenue.
Scott Walden, an agent with the 21st Judicial Drug Task Force, said officers executed a search warrant Tuesday at the home of Thomas Robinson, 45, at 226 3rd Avenue and found illegal narcotics, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Walden said a county canine unit assisted in the search that turned up marijuana and crack cocaine.
“We executed a search warrant and made contact with Mr. Robinson,” Walden said. “Danny Lambert and the canine unit came out and myself and Officer Steve Jowers saw a dog alert on the bedroom. We found 1.5 grams of marijuana and a small amount of crack cocaine in three pieces packaged for sale, digital scales, smoking devices and a Pepsi can with a false bottom compartment.”
Walden said the crack cocaine had a street value of $200 to $300.
Robinson was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana in the second degree, possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Walden said additional charges may follow.
Robinson was transferred to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
