Weekend full of opportunities for praise

This weekend brings with it an abundance of opportunities for locals to join in praise and worship ceremonies, as well as fellowship services, as several local churches will be holding special events.
At St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church, the congregation is continuing to offer fried and baked fish plates throughout the duration of Lent, with the exception of Good Friday, with all proceeds going to support the poor, both locally and internationally. Plates are $6 for eat in or take out service and are available from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.
At Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, a jewelry sale will be held today from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the church’s location at 2982 Jack Spring Road in Freemanville. The sale will act as a fundraiser for the church.
Sunday, the Willis Family of Christ Temple Evangelistic Pentecostal Church, located at 240 Carver Avenue, will be hosting Family and Friends Day. Services will begin at 3 p.m. with guest speaker, Dr. Bernard Bishop of Deliverance Ministry Of Jesus Christ.
This weekend’s events will, not only keep local congregation members busy, but should go a long way in aiding local church bodies and their mission work, but the activities will continue into the latter part of March as well.
Saturday, March 23, famed gospel singer Buddy Liles will be in concert at Bethel United Methodist Church.
Sunday, March 24 through Wednesday, March 27 Sardis Baptist Church will be hosting revival services. Services will begin at 6 p.m. on the 24 and 7 p.m. on the 25, 26 and 27. The Rev. Kevin Hatsy will be the speaker along with Dr. Wendell Ray.
Also on Sunday, March 24, The House of God which is The Church of the Living God The Pillar and Ground of the Truth Without Controversy will be having a “Door Program” at 3 p.m. with Tr. Elder Shirley Dean, pastor, officiating.
