According to Escambia County Circuit Clerk John Robert Fountain, Carlton Amos was charged with five counts of enticing a child, as well as five counts of sexual abuse of a child.

Escambia County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said the case against Amos is a child advocacy case, but was able to confirm Amos was taken into custody and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton, where he is currently being held on $200,000 bond.

Lambert said the case was originally going to be submitted to a Grand Jury, but Amos was instead arrested once enough evidence was made available to deputies.

“The district attorney felt like it would be best to go ahead and obtain warrants for his arrest,” Lambert said. “Instead of giving it to the Grand Jury and waiting for an indictment to come down.”
