Mayfest 2013 is just around the corner and with it comes one of the most popular annual events in Atmore – the Beautiful Baby Contest.

This year’s contest will help kick off the Mayfest event, getting underway at 9:45 a.m. at the main gazebo in Tom Byrne Park.

Atmore Area of Commerce Executive Director Sheryl Vickery said the contest is always one of their favorites.

“Always one of my favorites,” Vickery said. “It’s always a wonderful event and one of the most popular events at Mayfest. People love their kids and they love dressing them up and there is always a full house.”

Advanced registration for this year’s contest is $15 and includes a “Peek-a-Boo” Mayfest t-shirt for each contestant. Age categories for the contest for boys and girls respectively are: three months to under one year; one-year-olds; two-year-olds; three -year-olds.
