A Slidell, La. man arrested earlier this week in St. Tammany Parish has been linked to the robbery of an Atmore man on Fourth Avenue in April.

According to officials with Atmore Police Department, Kristopher Cameron Jones, 28, and two others were detained by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Department, who contacted Atmore Investigator Scott Walden, informing him that Jones may have been connected to the robbery of an Atmore man on April 30.

The victim, who was robbed of his wallet and cell phone at gunpoint while working on a home, positively identified Jones in a photo line-up, police said.

Police said further investigation revealed that Jones and two others traveled together from Atlanta to Louisiana, allegedly committing numerous robberies along the way, until being detained in St. Tammany Parish.

Police said felony warrants for robbery in the first degree will be issued for Jones by Atmore Police Department.
