The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for a suspect they believe pulled the trigger during a drive-by shooting Saturday morning in Freemanville.
“We have identified a suspect we believe to be the shooter and we are out there looking for him now,” Sheriff Grover Smith said Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting, which injured two people – one seriously – occurred around 2 a.m. Saturday in front of Thymes Place in Freemanville.
According to Chief Deputy Mike Lambert, one victim was shot once and transported to Atmore Community Hospital in stable condition. A second victim was shot multiple times and sustained life-threatening injuries, but was in serious, not critical, condition Saturday afternoon Lambert said.
As of now, Smith said the suspect’s name has not been released, nor have any other warrants been issued.
