Upcoming football games
Escambia Academy travels to Faulkner University in Montgomery today at 4 p.m. to take on Glenwood.
In week one of the regular season, which is Aug. 30, ECHS takes on T.R. Miller in Brewton.
That same week, Northview takes on Bozeman and EA travels to Greenville to take on Fort Dale Academy.
Football league adds new age groups
Organizers for a 7-on-7 flag football league in Atmore have added an age group.
Children ages 5 to 14 can register for the no-tackle league today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at City Hall.
There is no fee for registration in the new 7-on-7 league. The only expense for parents will be a jersey, which will cost between $8 and $10.
Volunteers are also needed to coach the teams.

NHS holding dance team clinics today
The Northview High School dance team will be holding a dance team clinic for elementary and middle-school girls later today.
The Mini Dance Team clinic is for elementary school students, which include students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The Junior Dance Team clinic is for students in sixth through eighth grade.
The clinics will both be held today, Saturday, Aug. 24, from 9 a.m. until noon in the school gymnasium.
A practice may also be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the track at the Northview High School football stadium. The performance will be at the Chiefs’ home football game on Friday, Aug. 30.
The clinic’s price is $30, which includes a T-shirt and a snack.
