Leroy “Bubba” Dailey, 57, of Beatrice, transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma.

A native of Peterman, he lived most of his life in Beatrice. He attended Monroe County Training School. He lived in Moss Point, Miss., for five years where he worked in construction, before returning back to Beatrice. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Beatrice.

His parents, Dan Dailey Jr. and Lela Verdell Dailey, and two brothers, Jerry Johnson and Sammie Dailey, preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memories are one daughter, Stephanie Sanders of Monroeville; six sisters, Debra (Eddie) Nettles and Annie (Clinton) Dailey of Beatrice, Mary Bell (Leon) Dover of Meridian, Miss., Louise (Ruben) Hill of Jacksonville, Fla., Tracey (Cedric) Wright and Stacey (Jeff) Dailey of Montgomery; three brothers, George Dailey of Tenn., Dan Dailey, III and Richard Dailey, both of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren, Sikina, Ty’Woine, and Jaylen Sanders, all of Monroeville, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Beatrice with the Rev. Orlando Gandy, pastor, officiating. Inhumation will be in the St. Matthews Church Cemetery in Chestnut.

Public viewing will be held Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Jones Unity Funeral Home in Monroeville. His body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore directing.
