Northview High School will name its homecoming queen Friday night at 6 p.m. before the Chiefs’ game against Freeport.
Five seniors are vying for the crown this year, and they include Autumn Pierce, Danielle Scott, Anna Fischer, Rebecca Grim and Tamara Green.
This year’s homecoming court includes freshmen Peighton Dortch, Morgan Myrick and Autumn Albritton; sophomores Jessica Amerson, Lillie Allen and Morgan Wiggins; and juniors Mallory Ryan and Kendal Cobb.
The lineup for the school’s homecoming parade is noon Friday at Bratt Elementary School. The parade will start there and continue down Highway 4 to Northview High School. The school will host a pep rally in the football stadium immediately following the parade.
Community members interested in building floats for the parade have until Thursday to sign up.
The school is also offering a barbecue lunch that day, which is on sale for $6. A plate includes a barbecue pork sandwich, chips, dessert and soft drink and all proceeds will benefit the Tommy Weaver Scholarship Fund.
Students will also be participating in dress out days all week. Wednesday is “match made in heaven” day, where students dress up as famous combinations, like salt and pepper. Thursday is theme day, where students will dress in a James Bond theme and Friday is garnet and gold day, where the students will wear school colors.
