Sewer grant great thing for city

Friday’s announcement of a $450,000 grant to help improve sewer lines in the Martin Luther King Avenue area is great news.
The grant, which includes a local match of $91,400, will replace old clay sewer pipe lines is the neighborhood bordered by Sinkfield, Ashley and Jones streets and Martin Luther King Avenue. Mayor Jim Staff said the area is prone to flooding during heavy rains, and this work will aleviate that problem. It’s a great thing for our citizens.
