Santa’s reindeer will get a little help from some “hogs” this Christmas season.

On Saturday, the L.A. Bikers will have their 13th annual “Toys for Kidz” ride, to help benefit needy families in the community.

Registration will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at David’s Catfish House in Atmore, and the ride will leave David’s Catfish House at 10 a.m. The ride will end at the PWC building, located at 106 East Ave. in Atmore.

Lunch will be provided and there will be a drawing held. All donations will go to Toys for Kidz.

Jody Jeter, a spokesperson for the L.A. Bikers, explained that the bikers will be stopping at three locations on the ride — Bratt, Flomaton and Atmore. At each stop, they will pause to hand out presents to needy families and children in those communities.

Jeter explained that the L.A. Bikers have already purchased the toys for the families, and were able to get the “wish list” items that the kids requested.

“It’s really a special event,” Jeter said. “Not only do you get to see the kids excited to get their toys, but you also know they’re happy because it was the toys that they asked for.”

Jeter said last year’s ride had about 80 bikes, and she expects a similar turnout this year. This year, the ride will help 20 families and 57 children.
