Christmas events coming up soon

The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce’s theme for the 2013 Twilight Christmas Parade is “Under the Sea.” The parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, at 5:30 p.m., and float participants must be lined up by 4 p.m. at Atmore City Hall.
The parade will follow its traditional route, starting at Atmore City Hall and then continuing down Main Street to Lindberg Avenue, before ending at Escambia County High School. More than two dozen floats are entered in the parade.

The Christmas parade is just one of several holiday themed events that are coming up in the next few days.
Thursday — An Evening With Santa
An Evening with Santa at Heritage Park will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event will be at the park, located at the intersection of Main and Craig streets. There will be chili, hot chocolate, cookies and other refreshments, as well as a Williams Station “Polar Express” ride. There will also be an opportunity for pictures with Santa, presented by Hursh Photography.
Friday — Poarch Creek Indians’ parade
The Poarch Creek Indians’ Christmas parade will be Friday, Dec. 13, at 5:30 p.m. The parade will begin on the PCI reservation at the wellness center, and will end at the PCI health department building.
