The search for an Atmore woman missing since Dec. 3 will continue until she is found, said Escambia County Sheriff Grover Smith.

Smith said his office has followed up on almost every lead to this point on the disappearance of 42-year-old Marcie Brewton Morgan, but Thursday officers will search around an area near her home in Canoe.

“We’re working to find her car,” Smith said. “We don’t know where she could be.”

Morgan was driving a blue 2001 Lincoln Town Car, with a blue and gray vinyl top and tinted windows, at the time of her disappearance. She is described as a white woman, about 5-foot-4, 150 pounds, with a medium build. She has blue eyes, wavy brown hair and an olive completion.

Smith said the search will not be called off and the department would continue to follow leads as they come in. The department will continue to handle the case as a homicide, until that can be ruled out.

“We’re going to search for her until we find her, dead or alive,” he said.
