Northview stays undefeated

The Northview Chiefs continued their undefeated season Thursday evening, defeating visiting Holmes County in a 51-20 district win.

The Chiefs improved to 12-0 overall, and 4-0 in Class 1A, District 3.

Cameron Newsome led Northview with 22 points, followed by Tony Mcaroy with 17. Eric Williams and Nick Lambert scored five points each, and Keondrae Lett added two.

The Chiefs jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the first quarter. Holmes County did not score until there was 2:14 left in the quarter.

Northview’s girls fell 55-32 to Holmes County. The Lady Chiefs trailed 34-7 after the first half of play.

Danielle Steadham had seven points; Jada Tucker scored three points; Mallarie Rigby, Abbie Johnson and De’Asia Fountain scored two points each; and Emily Heard added one point.

Northview travels to face Chipley tonight, Friday, Jan. 17. The varsity girls start at 6 p.m., and the varsity boys are scheduled to play at 7:30 p.m.
