Donald Guss Caraway, 69, of Mobile, passed away Thursday Jan. 16, 2014, in Mobile.

He was an retired inspector at Masland Carpets for 35 years of service, born in Escambia County, Fla., on July 23, 1944, to the late Comer and Ida Franklin Caraway. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He attended Schillinger Road Baptist Church.

His parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Survivors are one son, Roger Caraway of Fostoria, Ohio; one daughter, Crystal Baxley of Pensacola, Fla.; his companion for 11 years, Lena Phillips of Mobile; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Marty McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Barren Baptist Cemetery in Davisville, Fla.

The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
