Katrina Wallace has formally announced her candidacy for Escambia County Commission, District 5.
Wallace, who will be running as a Republican, said she is seeking the position of county commission in order to “give the people of this district a new voice, a new leadership style and a listening ear for our community.”
Wallace said she would contribute her time and talent to bringing a quality community in which to live.
Wallace began her career path as an educator in the Camden, N.J., public school system, where she served for 29 years. She is presently a retired educator.
Wallace serves as the treasurer for the United Fund of Atmore and is a volunteer for Sav-A-Life.
“I humbly ask the people of District 5 for the opportunity to serve them with a bold leadership initiative and a comprehensive new strategy of working together to advance our community and ‘better the human condition,’” Wallace said.
She is the wife of Dr. Coleman Wallace, a member of the Escambia County Board of Education.
