Several Atmore residents were featured on Wednesday night’s news broadcast on WKRG Channel 5.

Reporter Pat Peterson visited the city Wednesday morning to report on the “Save the Strand” effort. Several Atmore residents were asked to recount some of their memories of the historic theater, with footage filmed in the theater’s lobby and seating area.

Those who were interviewed on camera include Willie J. Grissett, Bub Gideons, Lowell McGill and Nancy Karrick. Also appearing on film could be Nancy Helton, Marshall Rogers, Susan Smith and Sheryl Vickery.
