Marcus Knowles, 36, of Atmore, recently won almost $2 million in the Florida Lottery.

Knowles purchased his game-winning $20 ticket at State Line Gift Shop, located at 11208 U.S. Highway 97, in McDavid, Fla. He won the grand prize in the $3 million Gold Rush Tripler scratch-off game.

Knowles elected to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1.95 million.

“I enjoy playing Florida Lottery Scratch-Off games,” he said. “I have won a few smaller prizes in the past, but nothing this big.”
