Rickey Lee Powell

Rickey Lee Powell, 46, of Atmore, passed away Wednesday March 12, 2014, in Bay Minette.

He was a native of Atmore, a commercial bus driver and a devoted Christian. He was a member of the Healing Waters Church in Bay Minette. He loved his kids and did all he could for them. He always knew how to get a smile out of you, and was extremely loyal to everyone he loved.

He was born on Sept. 14, 1967, to the late Roy β€œRed” and Ruby Godwin Powell.

Two brothers, Buddy Powell and Charlie Powell, and one sister, Judy Powell Scott, preceded him in death.

Survivors are one son, Richard Powell and one daughter, Sarah Powell, both of Atmore; three brothers, PeeWee (Ann) Powell and Gary Powell, both of Atmore, and Donnie (Shawn) Powell of Tennessee; one sister, Katie (Elvis) Presley of Atmore; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 14, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Daniels officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service time Friday, March 14, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Johnny Rolin, Larry Bonds, John Johnson, Kenny Powell, R.D. Powell and Blaine Jeter.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
