Atmore man arrested on drug charges

An Atmore man was arrested on drug charges Thursday, April 3, after officers caught him in possession of 20 grams of meth and other drugs.

William “Brick” Johnson, 29, was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of marijuana.

According to Agent Scott Walden, with the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, DTF officers stopped Johnson on Thursday and he was in possession of several different kinds of drugs. Walden said Johnson not only had the 20 grams of meth, but also 10 grams of synthetic marijuana, four grams of marijuana and more than $1,000 in cash.

Johnson was transported to the Escambia County Jail in Brewton.
