Beauford D. “Spunk” Jones

Mr. Beauford Oneal “Spunk” Jones, 45, of Fairhope, formerly of Atmore, exchanged life on this earth for eternal life on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Montrose Bay Nursing Care Center.

He was a native of Atmore and a graduate of Escambia County High School in 1987. He enjoyed grilling, watching football and playing Spades. He was a former member of the Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore and presently was a member of the Christian Valley Baptist Church in Fairhope.

He was an exceptional chef and had worked at several restaurants, with his last employment being with Market by The Bay in Fairhope.

Those who are waiting for him on the other side are his father, Bufford Jones; a niece, Latoria McCallum and his grandparents.

Those who will cherish his life and memory are his devoted wife, Angela Williams-Jones of Fairhope; his loving mother, Lillie Bell Jones of Atmore; one daughter, LeTecia Barnes of Atmore; two sons, Braxton Jones and Kolby Jones both of Fairhope; two daughters, Linda Faye Jones-George and Catherine Jones, both of Atmore; two brothers, the Rev. Charles Lee (Glenda) Jones of Atmore and Albert Lee (Juanita) Jones of Monroe, La.; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon on Saturday, April 19, at the Christian Valley Baptist Church, 211 Young St., in Fairhope, with the Rev. Roy T. Parker, Pastor, officiating. Inhumation will be in the Twin Beach Cemetery in Fairhope. Public viewing will be from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a family hour being held from 6 p.m. until 8 pm. His remains will lie in state from 10 a.m. until funeral service time with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC, directing.
