Jack Wayne Brown

Jack Wayne Brown, 68, of Walnut Hill, Fla., passed away May 17, 2014, at his residence.

He was born on April 21, 1946. Jack was of the Baptist faith, a long time member of the Walnut Hill Fire Department and a retired farmer. Physically, he had a weak heart but his spirit remained strong, loving and caring for his family, friends and community.
His parents, William Kenneth and Lois Langford Brown, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Pitts Brown; a son, David Rex Brown and his grandson, Rex Brown, all of Walnut Hill, Fla.; his sister, Nina (Robert) Bartley of Walnut Hill, Fla.; a brother, William C. (Jean) Brown of Pensacola/Walnut Hill, Fla.; and two nephews and one niece.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Roy Chewning and the Rev. Delbert Redditt officiating. Burial followed in Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sacred Heart Foundation, Attn: Carol Crow, Cardiovascular Services, 51 N. 9th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
