Mrs. Minnie Kate Pruitt, 71, of Atmore, traded her earthly home for a home in glory on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.

A native and lifelong resident of Atmore, Mrs. Pruitt was a graduate of the Escambia County Training School and a retired employee of Standard Furniture in Bay Minette. She was a member of the Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board.

She was a past member of the Atmore Chamber of Commerce. She loved flowers and enjoyed maintaining a beautiful yard at her home.

Those there to welcome her home are her parents, Lucy Dailey-King and L.K. King Sr., and her grandmother, Corene Shanks-Dixon.

Those left to embrace beautiful memories of her life include her husband, Leonard Earl Pruitt Jr. of Atmore; one daughter, Apostle Carolyn (Minister J. L.) Banks of Atmore; one son, Elder Rodney (Evangelist Pauline) King of Killeen, Texas; three brothers, L. K. King Jr., Jerry King and Levin King, all of Atmore; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, at the Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, with the Rev. Willie Hawthorne, pastor, officiating. Inhumation will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Longmire/Jones Memorial Chapel of Turner Funeral Chapel, with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC, directing.
