Emily Ree Bullard Montgomery

Mrs. Emily Ree Bullard Montgomery, 77, transitioned into her eternal home peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Atmore Nursing Care Center.

Mrs. Montgomery was a native of Baldwin County and a longtime resident of Atmore. She attended the Pleasant Hill School and the Escambia County Training School in Atmore. She was a member of Pleasant Hill (Full Gospel) Baptist Church on Highway 21 and a retired packer at Vanity Fair in Atmore.

Those family members awaiting her arrival into the Kingdom include two sons, John E. Montgomery and George Montgomery Jr.; her parents, J. B. & Clara Bell Bullard; one sister, Rosie Lee Mitchell; and one brother, Carl Bullard.

She will live on forever in the hearts of her husband, George Montgomery Sr. of Atmore; one daughter, Patricia (Harold) Mason of Atmore; three sons, Robert Montgomery, Curtis Montgomery and Gary Montgomery, all of Atmore; four sisters, Clara Mae Young and Mary Lee Dailey, both of Atmore, Minnie Hines of Birmingham and Helen McDowell of Pensacola, Fla.; four brothers, Lee Edward Bullard, Eddie Bullard, John H. Bullard, all of Atmore and James Bullard of Dayton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Zion Star A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. Donzell Young, pastor of New Regeneration Baptist Church of Atmore, as eulogist, and the Rev. Humphrey Shuford, as host pastor.

Retirement of her remains will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery. Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 11, at the funeral home and her body will lie instate at the church one hour prior to the funeral service with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC, directing.
