Woodrow Fellas ‘Buddy’ Peavy

Woodrow Fellas “Buddy” Peavy, 68, born in Atmore and a resident of Little River, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Thomas Hospital.

He was a security officer at William F. Green State Veterans Home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, stationed in Korea.

He is survived by his siblings, Patricia Tolbert, James Henry
(Brenda) Peavy and Wanda S. Peavy, all of Little River; nieces and nephews, Jason Bradley (Michelle) Tolbert Sr., Miranda “Mandy” (Jessie) Warren and Stacey Bailey; great nieces and nephews, Jason Bradley Tolbert Jr., Jordan Tolbert, Jaclyn Tolbert, Andrew Bowman, Josh Bowman, Breanna Bowman, Taylor Mitchem and Madison Bailey.

His parents, Woodrow Fletcher and Ethel Strickland Peavy, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jon Anderson and the Rev. D.L. Harville officiating. Burial followed at Mamie’s Chapel Cemetery in Little River.

The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, from 6:00 p.m at Norris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jason Bradley Tolbert Sr., Jason Bradley Tolbert Jr., Jordan Tolbert, Jessie Warren, Andrew Bowman, Wade Bailey, Lucas Mitchem and Johnny Wayne VanArsdale.

Funeral arrangements were by Norris Funeral Home of Bay Minette.
