Mr. Sam Thomas “S.T.” Parker Jr., 79, of Pensacola, formerly of Atmore, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at West Florida Hospice Center.
A native of Frisco City, Mr. Parker was reared in Atmore and attended the Graham School in Robinsonville. He had been a longtime resident of Pensacola. He was a retired machine operator at Monsanto (now known as Solutia).
Those left to cherish his loving memories are his wife, Betty Parker of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Rita Parker of Pensacola, Fla.; three sons, Ricky Parker of Houston, Texas, Michael Parker of San Antonio, Texas and Dwight Parker of Pensacola, Fla.; two stepsons, George Brooks of Pensacola, Fla. and G. Anthony Brooks of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Lucille Cooper of Long Island, N.Y.; two brothers, Andrew Parker and Joe Parker, both of Detroit, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m., from Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church in Atmore with Bishop Willie Williams officiating and the Rev. Joseph Williams, Gracious Host. Retirement of his remains was in Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC, directing.
