Elections: Smith re-elected as sheriff; Albritton, Quarker win

With 30 of 31 precincts reporting (all ballots except for provisional ballots), these were the final results for selected races in Escambia County.

Sheriff — Grover Smith 5,304 votes, Heath Jackson 3,807 votes

State Senate (county only) — Greg Albritton 5,232 votes, Susan Smith 3,773 votes

County Commission, District 5 — David Quarker 882 votes, Katrina Wallace 381 votes

Tax Collector — Tim Pettis 4,557 votes, Todd White 4,323 votes.

Albritton appeared as if he would beat Smith district-wide, as well. At 10 p.m., with 94 percent of all precincts reporting, he had 66 percent of the vote.
