Jerry C. ‘Bubba’ Wise

Jerry C. “Bubba” Wise, 82, of Atmore, passed away Tuesday December 23, 2014, in Pensacola, Fla.

He was born on April 24, 1932, in Mobile, to the late Jesse J. and Emma Lottie Tucker Wise. He was an aircraft mechanic with civil service at Brookley Field, in Mobile and NAS Pensacola. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Luvita Wise; a son, Jesse G. Wise; and sisters, Melba Jean Wise, Mary Joyce Anna and Charolette Huggins.

Survivors are one son, Jerry A. (Rose Marie) Wise of McCullough; five grandchildren, Jerry Clinton Wise, Jean (Robert J.) Peebles, Lisa Marie (Scottie) Burkett, Ariel Wise and Miranda Wise; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, George J. Wise, and James I. (Mattie) Wise Sr, all of Pensacola, and Michael Wise of Panama City, Fla.; and one sister, Claria Wise of Panama City.

Services were held Monday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. from McCullough Christian Center, with the Rev. C.P. Phillips and the Rev. Richard Daniels officiating. Interment followed in McCullough Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jerry Clinton Wise, Jarrod Peebles, Scottie Burkett, Robert Flirt, Dennis Alford and David Wise.

The family received friends Sunday, Dec. 28, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
