The Atmore Police Department issued the following press release Monday afternoon:

“Atmore Police Department officers responded to a call regarding a death on Saturday, May 30, at approximately 11 p.m. on North Main Street.

“APD investigators arrived on scene and are investigating this case as a death investigation, pending results from the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.”

Atmore Public Safety Director Glenn Carlee confirmed that the death took place in a “secured residence” and was not due to natural causes. Tuesday morning, Carlee said he could not comment further, as the investigation was still continuing.

Carlee said more information could be released after the investigation’s conclusion.
