Reading program was a success

Dear Editor,

The library’s summer reading program was a great success! The attendance for all four programs was 472 children and 155 adults. Children checked out 2,027 books during the four-week period.

Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who brought the children to the program each week. Thank you YMCA, First Baptist Church, and Concerned Citizens of Atmore readers for participating in the program each year. It’s obvious that all of you understand the importance of reading. Please continue to bring your children to the library throughout the summer.

The programs would not have been a success if not for Library Partners of Atmore. Thanks to all of you who donate to this wonderful support group each year.
Sponsoring the reading program each summer is just one way Library Partners supports your library. Each year, they provide the local match for LSTA federal grants.

They provide funds for books, computers, desks, displays, shelving, tablets, software, etc. There’s hardly an area in the library that does not contain items purchased by this group.

A great big thanks to Library Partners of Atmore board members Sherry Digmon, Bess Maxwell, Magaline Marshall, Myrna Monroe, Julie Johnson, Rex Rose and Leigh Ann Rowland. You work hard each year to make the membership drive a success.

Also, thanks to The Atmore Advance. You keep our community abreast of the library’s programs through photos and articles. We appreciate you!
