A two-vehicle crash at 10:52 a.m. today, Aug. 18, in Escambia County has claimed the life of an Atmore woman and injured another.

The crash occurred on Alabama 21 four miles north of Atmore. Barbara Emmons Harrison, 65, was killed when the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu in which she was a passenger was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Impala.

The driver of the Malibu,  Velma Joyce Evans, 70, and Harrison were both transported to Atmore Community Hospital, where Harrison later died.

The driver of the Impala was not injured. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
