A Loxley woman was jailed Thursday after police found meth inside her purse.
Chief Deputy Mike Lambert with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said Sherrie Marie Jordan is charged with possession of a controlled substance following the incident.
“Deputies executed a traffic stop on a vehicle without a tag traveling on Martin Circle,” Lambert said. “When the deputy approached the vehicle he noticed the passenger was acting very suspicious.
“The owner of the vehicle consented to a search, as did Ms. Jordan,” he said. “When the deputy searched Ms. Jordan’s purse, he located meth inside a coffee filter in her purse.”
Jordan was booked into the Escambia County Detention Center and later released on a $5,000 bond.
