Northview falls 3-1 to PCA

Northview went up big in its third game against Pensacola Christian Academy in volleyball action last week, but the Lady Chiefs fell 3-1 (24-26, 16-25, 25-15, 17-25) in a four-game match at home.

NHS won the third game 25-15 after taking an early 8-1 lead that it never squandered.

Throughout the winning set, the Lady Chiefs rallied on long points and found opportunities to get points when they could.

PCA won the first two sets and gained control after it lost the third.

“We are having a tough season,” NHS head volleyball coach Barbara Luker said.

Luker said the girls haven’t won a match this season, but have only lost by 3-4 points per game.

In junior varsity action, Northview fell in two games, 21-25, 20-25.

The Lady Chiefs had a tournament over the weekend and a match against Baker on Tuesday.

NHS is back in area action tomorrow at Laurel Hill. First serve for JV is at 4:30 p.m.

In other local volleyball action, Escambia Academy lost 3-0 to Autauga Academy, and fell 3-2 to Hooper Academy.

EA will be back in action on Oct. 8 in a home match against Jackson.
