Christmas Day has come early for me

This week, you are holding something special.
Inside of this edition of The Atmore Advance, you’ll find the fall edition of @MORE, our quarterly magazine that highlights life in our hometown.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been busy putting together the content for the magazine, and I’m quite pleased with the final product.
Through the many hours that were put into this magazine, there wasn’t a moment when I didn’t have fun in the design process. Yeah, I really enjoy going out and taking pictures and getting stories, but designing is different.
There’s something to being able to put the pieces together that create a piece of work that I find satisfying.
In the fall edition, you’ll find a story about an area couple that makes art with tires, a house that has a new western feel and some fall fashion from Atmore shops.
To be honest, this is my first edition that I have had my hands all over the production process.
While in Andalusia, I’d help in the creative process, but wouldn’t handle the design aspect of the magazine. That was for my great and better designer friend.
Last Friday, we sent the magazine to press and eagerly awaited its arrival on our back dock.
Whenever my friend gets her magazines back from the press, she always says it’s like Christmas morning.
She’s right.
I know that today will be Christmas morning for me.
