Barbara Howell Dickerson

Ms. Barbara Howell Dickerson, 83, passed away on Sat., Oct. 24, 2015, in Mobile.

Ms. Dickerson was a native of Brewton, and a resident of Atmore for the past 58 years. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Dickerson retired from Farmers Home Administration in Escambia County, Fla. with 30 years served and was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Auburn football.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, W.C. “Red” & Lucille Howell; and brother, W.C. “Billy” Howell, Jr.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Ted Malone of Atmore; two grandchildren, Molly Malone Cowles (Jonathan “Red”) of Atlanta, Ga. and Ryan (Joy) Malone of Atmore; one great-grandchild, Camden Cowles of Atlanta; one nephew, Donald Howell of Mountain Brook; one niece, Jennifer Howell Gibney of Mobile; and special family member, Joan Malone of Bay Minette.

Visitation was held on Oct. 27, 2015, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be today, Wed., Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Brown and Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Brewton.

Pallbearers are Gerald Malone, Ryan Malone, Donald Howell, Jonathan Cowles, Earl Weaver and Tab Jernigan.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC is in charge of all arrangements in Atmore.

Clara Marie Butler Gary

Clara Marie Butler Gary, 78, of Atmore, passed away on Thurs., Oct. 22, 2015, in Mobile.

She was retired from a Cookie Factory in Broadview, Ill., born in Florence on June 7, 1937, to the late James and Louise Hinton Butler. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Idia Butler; and a granddaughter, Teresa Jay.

Survivors are one daughter, Rosa McGhee of Poarch; two brothers, Ray Wilkerson and Eldred Wilkerson, both of Florence; two sisters, Faye Wiley and Evelyn Smith, both of Florence; two grandchildren, James Ivey and Jessica Ivey; seven great-grandchildren; and one great–great grandchild.

Services were held on Mon., Oct. 26, 2015, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bubba Rolin serving as officiate. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Dominique Bryant, James Ivey, Ethan Hall, Lavon McGhee and Gary Gibson.

Family received friends on Oct. 25, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Donald Dewayne “Ducky” Richardson

Donald Dewayne “Ducky” Richardson, 65, of Atmore, passed away on Thurs., Oct. 22, 2015, in Atmore.

His was a production supervisor with Atmore Industry, born in Atmore on July 31, 1950, to the late Steven T. and Margie Eddins Richardson. He lived in the Atmore area most of his life and was a graduate in the Escambia County High School, class of 1969.

Survivors are his wife, Pamela Bartley Richardson of Atmore; one son, Jason (Sherry) Richardson of Ga.; two brothers, Ronald Wayne (Cheryl) Richardson of Atmore; step brother, Paul (Amanda) Hinton of Silas; two grandchildren, Brooklyn and Lauren; one great-grandchild, “Bear;” and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Oct. 24, 2015, from the Johnson Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Bartley and Bro. Thurl Pearson serving as officiates. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Family received friends on Oct. 24, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel from until service time.

Lynda L. Lewis

Lynda L. Lewis Amerson, 79, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Atmore, passed away on Wed., Oct. 21, 2015, in Pensacola.

She was a homemaker, born in Atmore to the late Clarence and Addie Muriel Owens Lewis. She was a member of Bethel Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Amerson; and a son, Truman Earl Gavin.

Survivors are a daughter, Jean Cort of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; a son, James Amerson of Pensacola; grandchildren, Franchesca Berry, Lance Berry, Shanks Gavin and Eric Gavin; and great-grandchildren, Megan, Dimitri, William and Eric Truman.

Services were held on Sat., Oct. 24, 2015, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. Interment followed Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethel Methodist Church.

Stella Mae Mace

Stella Mae Mace, 68, of Perdido, passed away on Tues., Oct. 20, 2015, in Perdido.

She was a homemaker, born in Atmore on March 17, 1947, to the late Johnny Thomas and Etta Bell Harrison Thompson. She was a member of the New Testament Church of Rabon.

She is preceded in death by a son, Donald Eugene Bryars.

Survivors are her husband, Phil Mace of Perdido; two sons, William Mace of Perdido and Phil Mace, Jr. of Murrells, S.C.; three daughters, Sheila Edwards of Poarch, Tammy Keer of Texas and Elizabeth Mace of Foley; two brothers, Donald Thompson of Plainview, Texas and Rufus Thompson of Bay Minette; one sister, Ruth Morris of Atlanta, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Fri., Oct. 23, 2015, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rubba Rolin serving as officiate. Interment followed in Sardis Baptist Cemetery.

Family received friends on Oct. 22, 2015, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
