Speeders, beware.

Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks said the department has received numerous complaints of speeders

“We want everybody to understand that we also understand that everybody’s stressed out during the holiday hustle and bustle,” Brooks said. “Sometimes, we fail to pay attention while driving.”

Brooks said there are several new four-way stops in the city to help curve the accidents citizens have gotten into by others who aren’t paying attention.

“I want to warn everybody,” he said. “It’s my responsibility to provide public safety to the citizens of Atmore. We want everybody to start to slow down and pay attention to other drivers.”

Brooks said expect more tickets to be given to speeders in the coming weeks.

“I want everybody to be safe this holiday season,” he said.
