1. Band Perry in Atmore — Popular country-music and pop band The Band Perry visited Atmore in September for a show at Wind Creek Casino. The band also visited ECHS.

2. Shelby pays visit — U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby visited Atmore, holding a question-and-answer session for city leaders and citizens.

3. Festival draws big numbers — The 2015 edition of Williams Station Day was a big success. There were quite a number of vendors and visitors.

4. ‘Taste’ fills appetites — Local chefs from the area lined the outer sidewalk of Heritage Park to share their delectable delights.

5. Reality TV show — “Gears,” a popular reality TV show, filmed an episode at the Wind Creek Casino in Atmore.

6. ACH, IH join — Atmore Community Hospital changed its management from Baptist Health Care to Infirmary Health in June.

7. PCI creates fund — The Poarch Band of Creek Indians (PCI) approved the creation of a new $1 million scholarship fund to benefit high school students.

8. Xmas parade a hit — The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas parade drew thousands of visitors.

9. Stand your ground — An Atmore man was indicted in August for May’s “stand your ground” shooting.

10. Florida suspects — The suspects wanted for murder in Escambia County, Fla., may have been camping out in Atmore in August.
