A fire destroyed a home on the 300 block of Main Street in Atmore earlier this morning.

Atmore fire officials, along with assistance from Poarch and the APD, blocked the area so they could battle the blaze.

Firefighters are still on scene at the home, trying to put the fire out.

Fire Chief Ronald Peebles said the fire was a “monster,” and that he could see the flames all the way from Highway 99 in Florida.

A complete story will be published tomorrow on our website.
