Three inmates suffered stab wounds over the weekend at William C. Holman Correctional Facility, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
DOC Public Relations Manager Bob Horton said a correctional officer observed an inmate who appeared to be injured on Saturday at 10:20 p.m.
“The officer noticed the inmate had sustained an injury that was consistent with a stab wound,” Horton said. “The inmate was taken to an offsite medical facility for treatment.”
Horton said at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Holman correctional officers reported two inmates assigned to a facility dorm had been injured, and were treated for stab wounds and other injuries.
“One inmate was treated at the facility’s infirmary, and the other inmate was taken to a hospital in Mobile,” he said.
The ADOC is investigating the assaults.
