An Atmore man was ejected from his vehicle in a two-vehicle wreck Monday morning on Highway 21, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The wreck occurred at the intersection of Highway 21 and Sunset Drive, Trooper Jamie Maloy said.

Maloy said Rufus McCullam, 83, of Atmore, was driving his 1999 Jeep Wrangler when he was ejected from his vehicle after pulling out from Sunset Drive in front of a 1999 GMC Sierra.

The Sierra was driven by Jerry McCraney, 43, of Saraland, Maloy said.

Maloy said witnesses state that McCullam pulled in front of McCraney.

McCullam wasn’t wearing his seatbelt during the wreck. He was later transported to Atmore Community Hospital.

Troopers are still investigating the wreck.

Additionally, Atmore Fire Officials said they responded to three other wrecks on Monday.

No additional information was available as of press time Tuesday.
