Four were injured in a three-vehicle wreck on Highway 31 between County Road 8 and Chapman Road on Wednesday afternoon, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Jamie Maloy with the AST said that a 2008 Jeep Compass, 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser were involved in the wreck.

Maloy said the Jeep was traveling southbound on Highway 31, where the Monte Carlo and PT Cruiser were stopped in the same lane.

“The driver of the Jeep misjudged the stopping distance, struck the Chevrolet Monte Carlot in the rear causing it to strike the PT Cruiser in the rear,” he said. “The driver of the Jeep stated that during the heavy rain, she couldn’t see the brake lights on the Monte Carlo (vehicle two) until she was too close.”

Maloy said the driver of the Monte Carlo said he was stopped in traffic waiting on the driver of the PT Cruiser to turn left when he was struck in the rear.

Maloy said the third driver said he was stopped in traffic as well.

The driver of the Jeep, a Tierra Keyonne Luckey, 34, of Atmore, along with two minors were transported to the Atmore Community Hospital by Atmore Ambulance EMS, Maloy said.

The driver of the Monte Carlo was Travis Jermal Black, 20, of Atmore, who wasn’t injured.

Gavin Aubrey Coon, 18, of Century, Fla., was transported to ACH by ambulance.
