Investigators with the Alabama Department of Corrections and the U.S. Marshals captured a work release inmate Tuesday evening in Atmore.

According to an ADOC press release, Javarus Deon Ridgeway, 37, escaped from the Atmore Community Work Center on Monday. He was apprehended after being sighted in Atmore.

Ridgeway was serving a 20-year sentence on a 1998 conviction for first-degree robbery in Mobile County, and now faces charges for the escape.
