Christmas came early for me in July

Christmas came early last weekend.

In San Diego, Calif., thousands converge for the annual San Diego Comic Con conference.

The conference, to be blunt, is a nerd, geek, dork or an obsessed fan’s paradise.

For those who get to attend the conference, it’s an experience that includes star-filled panels, cosplay and so much more.

For those who aren’t able to make the conference, it’s all about what comes out of the conference, notably new season trailers, movie developments, character reveals, actors who are going to be certain characters and surprises.

Sitting at my apartment Saturday night, I kept refreshing a website’s live blog from the Marvel panel of the conference, eagerly awaiting what unfolds. Earlier in the day, we got so much good stuff in new Detective Comics trailers and comic book news.

It was pretty fun refreshing the web page, checking my Twitter and Facebook for any updates.

Poor phone.

When the Marvel panel ended, it was almost 10 p.m. and I was pretty satisfied at what I learned.

The future is looking so bright for all things nerdy, and as one said on Twitter, “What a time to be alive,” as a short clip from the upcoming “Justice League” film shows Aquaman embracing the sea.

Yes, I went to bed with a smile on my face knowing that Christmas did come early, and in July, like usual.
