President commutes sentence of Atmore man

President Barack Obama commuted an Atmore man’s drug sentence, according to reports.
The White House announced that Obama commuted sentences of 214 people convicted in federal cases.
Scottie Ladon Dixon of Atmore is one of five Alabama cases.
Dixon was sentenced in 2010 to a life sentence for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine and a 33-month concurrent sentence for violation of supervised release, plus 10 years’ supervised release on the first charge. Dixon’s sentence was commuted to 221 months imprisonment.
