Michael Arnold finished with 32 votes, and Johnnie Jones had 22.

“I want to thank my campaign staff for helping me,” Robinson said. “I fought a good fight. I’m looking forward to continuing and I have a lot of good ideas I want to share with the people.

“I’ll continue to talk with the people, and get ideas from them as well,” he said.

Webster said it was a good election.

“It was an experience I won’t forget,” Webster said. “I’d like to thank first God and then my family, and all of my support.”

Of the 983 residents in District 2, only 182, or 19 percent voted in the municipal election.

The runoff election is set for Tues., Oct. 4.
