The Escambia County Board of Education approved the following personnel recommendations at its Aug. 18 meeting:
Resignations
• Erica Poindexter, as speech language pathologist at A.C. Moore Elementary, effective Aug. 17, 2016;
• Jessica Little, as library aide at Escambia County Middle, effective Aug. 19;
• Ashley Salter, as physical education (PE) teacher at Flomaton Elementary, effective Aug. 10;
• Maurice Etheridge, as bus driver at the Atmore Bus Shop, effective Aug. 5;
• Gina Nall, as junior varsity cheerleader coach at Flomaton High, effective Aug. 5;
• Regina Taylor, as special education teacher, at Escambia County High, effective Aug. 8;
• Paige Reynolds, as science teacher at ECMS, effective Aug. 16;

In other business, the board:
• approved to revise the 2016-17 salary schedule athletic supplements for the change in AHSAA classifications for ECHS and FHS;
• approved to extend the bid for transportation fuel for one year;
• sought permission to pursue a bus purchase financing to maximize the fleet renewal eligibility; and,
• approved the negotiation of a principal contract for Scott Hammonds at FHS for a three-year period, effective July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019.
