A 19 year old died as a result of his injuries after colliding with a van while on a three-wheeler ATV last week in Canoe, according to reports.

The teenager, Cody Johns, 19, was riding the ATV westbound on the shoulder of the road when he collided with the side of the van at an intersection at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Sept. 1. According to media reports, his view was likely blocked due to a building on the corner of the intersection.

The accident took place at the intersection of Highway 31 and South Canoe Road.

Johns was transported to an area hospital. He passed away early Sunday afternoon.

The driver of the van was not injured. The accident remains under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.
