The Alabama Supreme Court has set execution dates for two inmates on death row at the William C. Holman Correctional Facility, just outside Atmore.

Thomas Douglas Arthur will be executed on Nov. 3, 2016, and Ronald Burt Smith Jr.’s execution date is Dec. 8, 2016.

Arthur was convicted in the 1982 contract killing of a Muscle Shoals man. He has had six previous execution dates set, and challenged the use of the state’s lethal injection method, which was denied.

Smith was convicted in Madison County in the 1994 slaying of a Circle C convenience store clerk during a robbery.
